January 15th marks the one year anniversary that
Marc lost his best friend. That was a very
difficult time because it was also during that
time that Marc was diagnosed with lymphoma.
Luckily, Marc is doing well, but there is still
a very big hole in his heart that will never be
filled. Marc adopted Askem when Askem was about
7 years old and his first placement wasn't
working out. Askem and Marc had a special
relationship. For several years, Marc couldn't
get Askem to stop barking in the car every time
they would go out together. Marc took a chance
and bought Askem his own convertible. Problem
solved. Even though Askem was a rather large
sammy, he did make it to about 15 years old.
Askem personified the "gentle giant."
